There are people who need help in our region and people who want to help. That’s what the United Way’s Day of Action is all about.
Erin Shay, executive director of United Way of Northeastern Minnesota describes it as “an opportunity for people in the community to come together and partner ... and just help to better our region and support our local community members.”
This year, the United Way is partnering with Community and Economic Development Associates for two Days of Action in Itasca County: Tuesday, June 14 in the community of Keewatin and Tuesday, June 21 in the community of Marble (which includes a portion of Greenway Township).

In the community of Keewatin, they are looking for volunteers who can help with landscaping, minor repairs or accessibility modifications to homes or businesses. They are also looking for both people or businesses that need help. You can submit a project request in Keewatin by May 15.
The United Way Day of Action in Marble is also looking for projects as well as volunteers and volunteer groups. You can submit a request for help in Marble by May 15.
Get involved by contacting your local United Way, and listen to the full KAXE Morning Show conversation above.
