United Way of 1000 Lakes

The Itasca County-based organization will name its Volunteer of the Year at a Community Impact celebration on May 22, 2025.

Started in 2015, the award has a history of highlighting community members for their leadership and outstanding service in the Itasca County area.

The race is set for Aug. 22 and will start and end at Rapids Brewing Company in Grand Rapids.

United Way of Northeastern Minnesota has a Day of Action in Keewatin on June 14 and United Way of 1000 Lakes will be in Marble on June 21 for its Day of Action. Volunteers and community projects are needed for both events.

Itasca County area nonprofits and community organizations are invited to submit nominations for volunteers who go above and beyond.

Each business has pledged to donate a portion of the designated sales to support the campaign, which supports local programs and initiatives working to improve education, increase financial stability, and build a vibrant and equitable community, a news release stated.
