ST. PAUL — Though the recent snowstorms may make it hard to believe, summer — aka construction season — is just around the corner.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation has released its 2026 road construction list, which includes just over 200 projects to improve roads, bridges, railroad crossings and other infrastructure.
You can see the full list of projects planned in the state, including exact locations and dates, here.
Major projects in Northern Minnesota include:
- Beginning a multi-year project on Highway 197 in Bemidji
- Beginning a two-year reconstruction of Highway 210 in Brainerd
- Reconstructing Highway 71 between Turtle River and Tenstrike
- Reconstructing Highway 2 between Highway 194 and Midway Road northwest of Proctor
- Repaving Highway 169 between Ely and Winton
- Reconstructing Highway 11 between Roseau and Warroad
- Completing the multi-year project on Highway 11 in Warroad
- Improving highways 10, 71 and 29 in Wadena
MnDOT is also planning to update railroad crossing signals in Grand Rapids, Cohasset, Nashwauk, Hermantown, McGregor and Badger.
