Events this week include Soup in the Street in Grand Rapids, an open mic night in Park Rapids and performances of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" in Mountain Iron.

The school board will appoint one person to fill a vacant seat until the November 2026 election, following Chair Jesse White's resignation to take a teaching position.

The region will be well represented in the Class A meet, with 69 entries; Northern Minnesota has five entries in the 2A meet.

The School Board approved the change on Jan. 27, 2025. The new schedule will begin next year if the Department of Education approves the district's application.
