Events Up North Nov. 17-23: Holiday markets in Brainerd, Twilight Parade in Virginia

Events this week include Soup in the Street in Grand Rapids, an open mic night in Park Rapids and performances of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" in Mountain Iron.

It's another busy week in Northern Minnesota. Here are some events to check out:

Monday, Nov. 17

  • Community Read-in - 5-6 p.m. at Bemidji Public Library. Gather to read your own book quietly.
  • Greater Lakes Area Performing Arts hosts auditions for The Tin Woodsman of Oz, 6-9 p.m. at Pequot Lakes High School auditorium
  • Symphonic Band concert - 7:30 p.m. in the main theater in Bangberg Hall on the campus of Bemidji State University

Tuesday, Nov. 18

Wednesday, Nov. 19

  • Itasca Housing Resource Team hosts Soup on the Street - 3 p.m. at Old Central School in Grand Rapids. Donations of hats, mittens and scarves will be accepted.
  • Community Bonfire - 5-7 p.m. at the beach on Silver Lake in Virginia
