Mountain Iron-Buhl finishes its season with a 30-2 record. Anna Neyens and Paige Norman were named to the all-tournament team, as was Kelliher/Northome’s Kate Thayer.

MINNEAPOLIS — Mountain Iron-Buhl is again the state runner-up in girls basketball.

The Rangers beat Braham (74-62) and Hillcrest Lutheran Academy (78-56) to advance to the Class A championship at the University of Minnesota on Saturday, March 14. But they could not catch up to Sleepy Eye Saint Mary’s after the Knights opened with 14 unanswered points.

Mountain Iron-Buhl finishes its season with a 30-2 record. The Rangers were also the runner-up in 2024 and champions in 2023.

Anna Neyens and Paige Norman were named to the all-tournament team, as was Kelliher/Northome’s Kate Thayer.

Kelliher/Northome and Rock Ridge also advanced to the tourney, but both teams lost in the quarterfinals and the first round of the consolation bracket.
