BRAINERD — The Crow Wing County Land Services Department will conduct an event Thursday, Sept. 18, providing an opportunity for businesses to dispose of any old electronics.
The event runs 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Crow Wing County Landfill, 15728 State Highway 210, Brainerd.
Items accepted include:
- Computer equipment — CPUs, CD/DVDs, roms, monitors, memory, networking, printers, scanners, tape drives
- Other equipment — Circuit boards, integrated circuits, precious metal scrap wire and cable motor generators
- Specialized equipment — Duplication/copying, banking, bar code, communication, hospital/medical, telephone and test/lab
The cost is 40 cents per pound for businesses and disposal will be billed through the landfill office, the county stated in a news release. Credit cards or checks will be accepted. This fee is due the day of the event or within 30 days of receipt of invoice for those businesses that already have a charge account at the landfill. If a business wishes to establish a charge account, please contact the landfill office at 218-828-4392 before the event.
Upon arriving at the county landfill, businesses must stop at the landfill office, where the attendant will review the items and provide further directions to the disposal area. All loads coming to the landfill must be covered to ensure the roadways are not littered with debris, the county stated.
Equipment to be disposed will be unloaded, and vehicles will be directed back to the Landfill Office to be reweighed at the scale. At this time, businesses will be provided with a bill for payment.
