EMILY — A new county park will soon open near the city of Emily.
Crow Wing County said it is nearing completion of the Little Emily Lake Park. The park includes a public swimming beach, adding to the small number of public beaches available in the otherwise lake-rich county.
We know our audience members are extremely knowledgeable and engaged in their communities. That's why we need your help to create a list of our region's public beaches.
It will also include a fishing pier, a playground, two pavilions, a canoe launch and more than 3 miles of walking trails.
The Crow Wing County Board unanimously agreed to create the park in 2023, after a previous effort by the city of Emily failed due to a lack of funding.
A grand opening event with a ribbon cutting will be noon Aug. 8, followed by a tour of the park and trails. The park is located at 21517 Papoose Road.
