On the Friday morning show this week Marshall from the Timberjay helps us understand the process of permitting for copper nickel mining by Polymet, more on Lt. Governor Tina Smith and the musical chairs it will cause in th MN Legislature and a story of a bear attack.  We also talked with Bill Vagts later in our show about saving his corgi from a black bear in Isabella, mn. 

This week Marshall reports that Lt. Governor Tina Smith got her first walleye on Lake Vermilion.  AND she was appointed by Governor Mark Dayton to take Senator Al Franken's seat in Congress until next November's election.  He also tells us about the controversial Ely Rec Center, a whopper of a fish tale and the hot basketball game matchup of Ely and Northwoods.

Every Friday morning we check in with Marshall Helmberger about the stories they've been covering at the Timberjay newspaper.  This week his topics were the Mining Tax Guide, Representative Emmer's "the Miner Act", a study on the impact of climate change on winter recreation tourism and how the changes of the deer permit areas in NE MN will impact the moose population.
