On the Friday Morning Show, Heidi talks with Marshall Helmberger the editor of the Timberjay Newspaper. This week they talk about the FCC’s rejection of Nevada-based LTD Communication’s application to build high-speed broadband internet networks in Minnesota, opening the door for other companies to provide more timely broadband solutions across a wide swath of the North Country.
Marshall helps us to understand the organization called Mesabi Trust that holds a royalty agreement with Northshore Mining and what that agreement consists of and how it affects the area.
Marshall talks about the DNR making progress on Big Rice Lake in the Superior National Forest, using an airboat to cut down and fight a waging battle with pickerel weed and water lilies, in hopes to bring back an abundance of wild rice on the lake.
