SAGINAW — A Saginaw man was killed in a motorcycle crash Friday night, June 12, near Twig in Industrial Township.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office identified him Sunday as 56-year-old William Helgemoe.
In a news release, the sheriff’s office stated the motorcycle was eastbound on Industrial Road around 7 p.m. and failed to navigate a left-hand turn, overturning in a ditch. Lifesaving efforts were not successful and Helgemoe was pronounced dead at the scene.
Industrial Township Fire Department, Grand Lake Fire Department, Cloquet Fire/Ambulance Service, Minnesota State Patrol and the St. Louis County Rescue Squad assisted at the scene.
