TWIN CITIES — The Detroit Lakes girls golf came home with two state titles on Wednesday, June 10.
The Lakers won their third straight team title, led by sophomore Sophie Christianson, who won the Class 2A individual title. Christianson came in fourth last year.
In its state tournament debut, the Brainerd boys team also captured the state title. Sophomores Brady Oseland and Aydan Dobis led the Warriors with third and fourth-place finishes, respectively.
Other top team performances came from the Mahnomen-Waubun boys and the Badger Greenbush-Middle River girls, who both took third in Class A.
Other Northland medalists in the individual competition are Park Rapids eighth grader Natalie Martin and Mahnomen-Waubun senior Blake McMullen, who came in seventh, and Fertile Beltrami sophomore Macy Petry, who took eighth.
