NISSWA — One man has died following a house fire in Crow Wing County on Tuesday evening, May 12.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office stated in a news release that deputies and fire personnel responded to a report of a structure fire on County Highway 18 in Lake Edward Township, east of Nisswa.
During an initial search of the residence, fire crews located the body of an 87-year-old man.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation with the assistance of the Minnesota State Fire Marshal.
The Nisswa, Pequot Lakes and Mission fire departments, along with the Nisswa and Pequot Lakes police departments, assisted at the scene.
This is the second recent fatal house fire in the area. Nancy Zimmer, 81, was found dead in March following a house fire in Breezy Point.
