The Boy River Hobo Club hosted its annual Hobo Day, a Labor Day weekend tradition in northern Cass County celebrated since 1953.

BOY RIVER — The current census population of Boy River is 26, so it’s fair to say the town population explodes when Hobo Day comes around every Labor Day weekend, as it has since 1953.

Hundreds converge around Main Street for Hobo Day traditions like a biscuit and gravy breakfast at Jerry's Bar, “minnow shots,” the parade, Hobo Stew, karaoke, the flea market or a morning trap shoot.
