IRON JUNCTION — Highway 7 near Iron will close for about five days, starting Monday, Sept. 15, as crews work on the CN Railroad crossing between Old Mesabe Road and Ramshaw Road North.
The road southwest of Eveleth will be closed to through traffic during the construction.
The recommended detour is unfortunately a lengthy one, the county said. It recommends using highways 101, 53 and 37.
Highway 53 near Eveleth is also in the midst of construction, though it remains open.
