Brimson Complex, Munger Shaw fire structure damage estimated at $2.3M

The vast majority of the damage was caused by the Camp House Fire, according to St. Louis County. Over 200 structures were damaged, 16 of which were homes.

BRIMSON — St. Louis County released preliminary damage estimates for the three spring wildfires on Thursday, July 31.

The county is estimating total structure damage at $2.35 million; $2.25 million was caused by the 12,000-acre Camp House Fire near Brimson.

Camp House, the Jenkins Creek Fire north of Brimson and the Munger Shaw Fire near Cotton burned tens of thousands of acres in May and June.

A total of 205 structures were damaged across 74 parcels. All but 13 were total losses, with two partially damaged by Munger Shaw and 11 partially damaged by Camp House.

Around 16 homes were damaged, and 70% of the properties were seasonal.
