BRIMSON — Permit fees for those trying to rebuild after the St. Louis County wildfires will be temporarily waived, the county announced Tuesday, July 8.
The county will waive fees for replacing lost structures and addressing failing septic systems within the disaster area through Jan. 4, 2026.
County Assessor's Department staff have been visiting sites impacted by the wildfires to assess property damage. More than 150 structures were lost or damaged, including 20 to 30 residential dwellings, according to initial estimates.
Information on how to apply for a land use or septic permit is available on the county's website or by calling the county's Planning and Zoning Department at 218-471-7103.
