Give to the Max Day is Minnesota’s annual day of giving that lifts up nonprofits all across the state. It is a chance for listeners and neighbors to come together and support the local organizations that matter most.
KAXE has always had a commitment to supporting nonprofits in Northern Minnesota — we hope you are able to donate to many worthy causes on this important day.
We are already in the middle of our NewsMatch End of Year Campaign, and we are so grateful for everyone who has donated so far. Your early gifts have helped us unlock national matching funds and keep our local news and storytelling going strong.
For Give to the Max Day, we are excited to share the McKnight Foundation has contributed $9,000 in matching funds. That is on top of more than $35,000 in NewsMatch and Community Match support already on the table. This means your gift up to $1,000 will now be matched 4-to-1 while matching funds remain.
“Community support is what makes the work we do possible,” said Sarah Bignall, CEO and general manager of KAXE. “Every donation is an investment in local news, in trusted information and in the stories that connect Northern Minnesota.”
Gifts made during Give to the Max Day and the NewsMatch campaign support our growing newsroom and coverage of key issues like school referendums, local library funding and local sports.

Thank you for keeping people-powered radio strong.
