GRAND RAPIDS — KAXE has a new reporting intern for the summer of 2026.
Erin Bowman started an internship with the KAXE News Teams through Report for Minnesota on June 1. She will be reporting on local news in Northern Minnesota through Aug. 7.
Report for Minnesota is a program through the University of Minnesota Twin Cities’ Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Its purpose is to connect local news outlets with journalism students wanting experience.
Originally from East Grand Forks, Bowman just finished her second year at the U of M. She is majoring in journalism and political science, with minors in German and statistics.
“I had always had journalism in the back of my head,” Bowman said in her introduction on the KAXE Morning Show. “I took a few classes and really just fell in love with it.”
In her first weeks at KAXE, Bowman reported on the recent opening of Roots and Wings Early Learning Center, a visit from Congressman Pete Stauber in Hibbing and some high school state tournament results.
