The first of two Native American Heritage Nights Jan. 20, 2026, included drumming, dancing and an Ojibwe-language broadcast. The second is Jan. 30 against Grand Rapids.

The annual benefit game at Yanmar Arena on Jan. 31, 2026, also aims to raise awareness of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum in Eveleth.

As some with the museum weigh a move to St. Paul, those on the Iron Range planning to push back at a rally Saturday.

The Warriors ended an undefeated season by winning their fifth title of the last seven tournaments. Three students were named to the All-Tournament Team.

The state boys hockey tournament wrapped up this weekend, with East Grand Forks competing with Hibbing/Chisholm and Northern Lakes.

East Grand Forks and Northern Lakes will face off in the quarterfinals. The winner will most likely play Hibbing/Chisholm in the semifinals.

Bischoff finishes her career with the 12th most points in Minnesota girls hockey history. She's the first Northern Minnesotan Ms. Hockey in 14 years.

Warroad is the 2025 Class A runner-up. Proctor/Hermantown won the consolation championship.

Proctor/Hermantown lost its first match Wednesday night, leaving the Warriors as the last team from the Northland vying for the Class A title.

The two teams are on opposite sides of the Class 1A bracket. They're the only rural Northern Minnesota teams in the tournament.
