BRAINERD — The Brainerd Warriors adapted floor hockey team won its seventh state championship at Coon Rapids High School on Saturday, March 8, beating Dakota United 3-2 in overtime in the physical impairment division.
This is the team's fifth title of the last seven tournaments, last winning in 2023, according to the Minnesota State High School League. The Warriors finished third last year.
"The golden goal in a defensive battle resulted from a defensive play," the MSHSL news release said. "Eighth-grader Eric Fordyce turned to clear the puck from his own goal line and launched it the full length of the court into the net to cap a perfect season."
Brainerd went undefeated in the nine-game regular season and allowed only nine goals, including at state.
Aiden Olsen, Andrew Kargel and Caleb Keran were named to the 2025 All-Tournament Team.
