The event is part of Black Birders Week 2023 and is set for 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at the Neilson Spearhead Center south of Bemidji. All are welcome for a day of learning about birds and birdwatching, nature hikes and other experiential learning.

KAXE/KBXE will celebrate our recent class of on-air volunteers June 4-10. Tune in and see if you, too, might want to host a music program! New volunteer training is 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, June 19, in Grand Rapids. All are welcome!

Proceeds will help with expenses incurred in the process of making and donating special project quilts to veterans, local cancer patients and Project Linus.

Area rock hounds have a trove of treasures to discover at the Cuyuna Rock, Gem, and Mineral Club’s annual agate and mineral show going on this weekend, May 13-14, at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds in Brainerd.

The Fishing Fling event is an annual fundraiser to provide area high school students with thousands of dollars in scholarships. This event is open to the public and there will be many opportunities to win from an array of prizes.

The Great American Think-Off hosted by the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center is an exhibition of civil disagreement between powerful ideas being explored by everyday people.
