The state plans to reconstruct Highway 33 in Cloquet in 2028, replacing two traffic signals and improving sidewalks and trails for pedestrians and cyclists.

The Minnesota DNR accepted the parcel from the Trust for Public Land, which used state grants to buy the land from adjacent private property owners.

The meetings in Coleraine, Floodwood, Hermantown and Cloquet will allow members of the public to comment and ask questions about the proposed route of the 63-mile line.

In partnership with Carlton County, stakeholders in the Cloquet child care industry will host a community action session on Aug. 7, 2025.
