KAXE listener Jim Aune poses while on a trip to Norway in August 2024. He says he hopes to return with 14 family members in 2026.

Every Friday morning, we get to know one of our members on "What's for Breakfast." Last week, we talked with Jim Aune from Eveleth.

EVELETH — Our first What's for Breakfast segment during the KAXE Morning Show this year began with our text line.

Let's set the stage: Host John Bauer traveled to Denmark over the holidays and talked about how hard long overseas airplane trips are. Our text line lit up.

Lisa wrote, "Long flights are hell! On a flight back from Honolulu overnight, eight hours, the woman in the seat in front of us had her light on the whole flight."

Jim Aune texted, "My grandma came here on a ship with five kids, sleeping in one bed, full of hay, stop whining!"

Jim, it turns out, became our What's For Breakfast guest and told us not just about his grandmother's trip but also his most recent trip to Norway. And, of course, his breakfast.

"I think Arlene will make me a soft-boiled egg and toast, which I have just about every other day, and then I eat hot cereal on the other days."
