Events Up North June 16-22: Loons and Lakes Festival, concert for conservation

Events this week include a kids fishing tourney and Loop the Lake Festival in Bemidji, a Bells and More concert in Cohasset, Spring Bike Fling in Walker and Itasca Pride Fest in Grand Rapids.

It's another busy week in Northern Minnesota. Here are some events to check out:

Monday, June 16

Tuesday, June 17

  • Tuesday Summer Concert Series - noon at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cohasset, featuring "Bells and More: A Musical Potpourri." Optional lunch follows at 12:45 p.m.
  • Multi-Agency Resource Center for those recovering from wildfires in St. Louis county - 3 to 7 p.m. at Hoyt Lakes Arena
  • Loon Country Quilters meeting - 6 p.m. at Grand Village activity room in Grand Rapids

Wednesday, June 18

  • Multi-Agency Resource Center for those recovering from wildfires in St. Louis County - 7 to 11 a.m. at Hoyt Lakes Arena

Thursday, June 19

  • Juneteenth Freedom Walk - 10 a.m. at Old Central School in Grand Rapids. Walk 2.5 miles around Crystal Lake. A catered picnic lunch follows back at the school.
  • Iron Range Juneteenth Celebration - 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Minnesota Discovery Center in Chisholm. Includes live music, games and a free meal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • United Way of Bemidji Kids' Fishing Tournament - 8 a.m. to noon, with awards ceremony at 1 p.m. at Cameron Park
  • Land of the Loon Arts & Crafts Festival - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Olcott Park in Virginia
  • Itasca Pride Fest - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the grounds of Old Central School in Grand Rapids. A community meal follows at 6 p.m., with an interfaith service at 7 p.m., both at Community Presbyterian Church.
