GRAND RAPIDS — This week, people didn't seem very pressed to call in to "What's For Breakfast" on the KAXE Morning Show. Fortunately, 7-year-old Charlie Lick decided to help us out and called at the last second.
For breakfast, Charlie had pancakes with eggs and a banana. He likes to cut up the banana and put it on top of his pancakes, along with some syrup. We asked him if he drinks coffee, but he replied with "I'm too young for that," preferring a classic glass of orange juice instead.
Charlie called us while his mom was bringing him to school. He told us about the outfit he chose to wear that day: a dinosaur shirt, a red and black sweatshirt, black pants and some tennis shoes.
Charlie also told us about his recent trip to Mexico. He said it was a lot of fun, but he also got sunburned, which wasn't as fun.
We also got to hear about Charlie's pets. He has two dogs, Albert and Rosy. One of them is a Boxer, and the other is a Bernese Mountain Dog. Both hang mostly around Charlie's parents. Albert, in particular, follows Charlie's mom, Katie, around.
Lastly, Charlie gave us a little bit of Lick family drama. He claimed that his mom gets a little rude to his dad. He clarified that his dad sometimes forgets to grab his coffee before leaving for work, which annoys his mom. Charlie also said that she is "calm sometimes" and buys good gifts for his birthday.
Charlie wanted to call in so he could hear his mom on the radio.
