GRAND RAPIDS — This week, we got to chat with Kai Stenlund about breakfast, as well as his sauna business.
Kai had only drunk his coffee when we caught up with him on the KAXE Morning Show on Friday, Feb. 14, but he had a solid breakfast plan: scrambled eggs made in bacon fat, whole wheat toast, bacon and a glass of orange juice.

As What's for Breakfast conversations go, there was some lengthy discussion about methods of making bacon, with John Bauer surprising us with his method of the microwave.
Beyond breakfast, Kai also told us he's going to be at Two Rivers Campground, noon-5 p.m. Sunday, hosting the first Sauna Festival. The festival will feature multiple saunas, including a 10-person electric sauna and two smaller, wood-fired ones.
While Kai enjoys the convenience of electric, he favors the tradition and sensory experience of wood-fired saunas — the crackling fire, the scent of burning wood, and the deep, lasting heat.
Kai's been a longtime listener since high school as well as a volunteer for a time. He appreciates the strong sense of community he gets while listening as well as the great staff behind the scenes.
