Events Up North Nov. 18-24: Theater, holiday parade, poetry slam

It's another busy week in Northern Minnesota. Here are some events to check out:

• Canvas tipi drop-in workshop with Rory Wakemup - noon to 4 p.m. each day at Rail River Folk School in Bemidji

• Loon Country Quilters - 6 p.m. at Grand Village in Grand Rapids. Helen Adamson will present a program on her 365-day challenge quilt.

• Soup on the Streets - 3 p.m. at Old Central School in Grand Rapids. All are welcome for a soup meal and donations of new winter hats, mittens and scarves are accepted.
• Silver Star presentation - 4 p.m. at VFW Post 1720 in Grand Rapids. The family of Corporal Norris Brenden will receive his Silver Star. Brenden grew up in Talmoon and died in Vietnam in 1968.
• Pints with a Purpose - 5-8 p.m. at Jackpine Brewery in Baxter. One dollar from every pint will support the Relationship Safety Alliance.
  

• Maker's Market - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cohasset City Hall
• First City Singers - noon at Beltrami County Historical Society in Bemidji
• Watermark Art Center's Poetry Slam - 6 p.m. at Fozzie's Smokin' BBQ in Bemidji

• Frozen, Jr. - 7 p.m. at Rock Ridge High School Performing Arts Center in Virginia
