Think of a scientist. Who do you see? What are they holding? What clothes are they wearing? Where are they?
Many picture an Einstein-looking fellow; someone with crazy white hair and a white lab coat, standing in a laboratory and staring at an Erlenmeyer flask (inevitably filled with some bubbling green liquid).
That's the stereotype young Charlie Mitchell and Stella Mayerhoff were working with, until some influential educators stepped in.
Co-hosts Charlie Mitchell (phenology coordinator, outdoorsy doofus) and Stella Mayerhoff (reporter, scientist, literary legend in the making) geek out about evolution, primatology, and the marvelous influence of teachers. They swap stories about academia, fun facts about chickadees and chimpanzees, and learn about nighthawks.
This week, we hear from Little Falls Middle School and KAXE contributors Pam Perry (wildlife biologist) and "Tornado Bob" Conzemius (meteorologist).
