Album of the Week: The Cause of It All by The Reverend Shawn Amos

In The Cause of It All, Shawn Amos lays it bare with only he and his longtime guitarist Chris 'Doctor' Roberts on the record, paying tribute to the blues originals like Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf and Little Walter. The album was recorded in a fashion that allowed for spontaneity and vulnerability, with the intent to capture the music in a way that honors those greats. According to Amos, they recorded that way to capture a 'bravery' about the music from those masters.

This is 4th album under The Reverend Shawn Amos' moniker, and the 8th from Shawn Amos. A couple fun facts, Amos is indeed an ordained minister, and is the youngest son of Famous Amos chocolate chip cookie founder, Wally Amos.
