TOWER — Aaron Kania is seeking the DFL endorsement to run for House 3A seat.
This seat, currently held by Republican Roger Skraba, represents far northern communities from International Falls to the Grand Portage Reservation.
Kania, a former law enforcement officer, wildland firefighter and forester, states on his campaign page that the largest House district by area in Minnesota is one of the most complex.
“After serving the public for nearly three decades, I’ve realized there is always more to be done,” Kania stated in a Tuesday, Jan. 20, news release.
“Our rural communities face unique challenges that require a leader who understands our land, our economy and our people. My background has prepared me to be the voice we need to tackle these challenges together.”
Skraba has not yet announced a reelection campaign as of Tuesday afternoon.
Precinct caucuses for state elections are slated for Tuesday, Feb. 3. More information on how to participate in local caucuses is available on the Secretary of State’s website.
