AURORA — Engineers with St. Louis County Public Works will present their design plans to the public ahead of 2026 construction on County Highway 100 in Aurora.
The L-shaped corridor, also known as Third Avenue North and Main Street, has been studied since early 2024 in partnership between St. Louis County and the city of Aurora.
With funds from the state, city crews will also work on street improvements while the 2026 project is underway, including utility replacements.
The city and county will discuss the projects at a meeting 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Aurora Community Center, 15 W. First Ave. N., Aurora.
Key project components include constructing a raised median on Third Avenue between Erie and Hill streets, constructing a 6-foot sidewalk along the south side of Third Avenue, and a new mini-roundabout at Main Street and Third Avenue. The sidewalks on Main Street will also be widened, and parking lanes reduced from 17 feet to 12 feet.
More information on the project, as well as a virtual meeting link, is available on St. Louis County's website.
