BRIMSON — The Department of Natural Resources cited a Duluth man Friday, Sept. 5, for his role in the Camp House Fire.
The fire was one of three that burned tens of thousands of acres in St. Louis and Lake counties in May.
Parker John Wilson, 27, was cited for failure to extinguish a fire.
According to court filings, the incident occurred at a property he owns on Highway 44 in Brimson, just south of Camp House Road. He owes $190 for the misdemeanor charge.
Wilson was previously cited for setting fires in 2020. According to the citation, he was part of a group having a fire at The Deeps, a popular Duluth swimming destination in Lester Park.
The Camp House, Jenkins Creek and Munger Shaw fires burned a total area larger than Lake Kabetogama over two weeks this spring, resulting in $2.35 million in property damage. Camp House was by far the most destructive in those terms, damaging 187 structures, most of which were total losses.
