International Falls is exploring options for replacing the bandshell in Smokey Bear Park.

The city is exploring its options after a fire destroyed the park's bandshell.

INTERNATIONAL FALLS — The city of International Falls will host an open house at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, to discuss the future of Smokey Bear Park after a fire destroyed its bandshell.

The historic bandshell burned in April 2024. The city is accepting answers to a questionnaire exploring potential plans: recreating the bandshell, building a new multi-use structure or leaving the area as a greenspace.

The city said the open house and questionnaire "is your chance to share your vision and help shape the next chapter for this beloved community space."

The open house will be hosted in the City Council Chambers. The questionnaire is open until Sept. 2.
