NEVIS — The eastern Highway 87 construction project in Hubbard County begins Monday, Aug. 11.
Crews will resurface the road and replace culverts from Highway 64 to County Road 13.
That portion of Highway 87 south of Nevis will be closed for about two weeks for the safety of crews. Local residents and businesses will still have access.
All other motorists will have to detour to Highway 34 between Park Rapids and Akeley.
The Department of Transportation said the project is expected to be completed in mid-September.
