PRIOR LAKE — The spring state tournament season ended with a Northern Minnesota school on top.
Park Rapids won the Minnesota State High School League clay target state tournament in Prior Lake on Friday, June 20.
The invitation-only tournament brings the top 40 teams together.
Three Northlanders also placed in the individual competition. Hermantown’s Chase Graves finished fourth overall after a three-way tie for first, shooting a 99 with a reverse run of 86. Menahga’s Fordyce Johnson finished fifth (99, 77), and Park Rapids’ Hunter Bozovsky finished eighth (99, 42).
All three were also named to the all-tournament team.

The intent of the ban is to reduce the risk of chronic wasting disease spread, following detections of CWD in wild deer in new areas of the state last year.
