PEQUOT LAKES — The Patriots — or in this case, Patriotics — are state champs.
The Pequot Lakes robotics team won its first Minnesota State High School League robotics state tournament Saturday, May 10, at Concordia University in St. Paul.
Pequot Lakes joined Becker and Irondale in the state championship alliance that beat Rochester, New London-Spicer and Sauk Centre 241-221 in a tie-breaker.
Warroad was part of the fourth-place alliance.
Pequot Lakes and Warroad, as well as Northeast Range/Ely, also recently competed at the FIRST Championship in Houston.
A total of 36 teams participated in the competition.
