GRAND MARAIS — Those intent on peeping fall colors in the Superior National Forest are being asked for extra caution and awareness as forest management activities are taking place.
The Honeymoon Trail, a popular fall color viewing road, currently has active logging occurring, according to a news release.
Drivers should expect to encounter logging traffic on the road.
Traffic could become backed up or reduced to one lane, and some debris may be on the road.
If you’re driving this road or others that may have logging activity, forest officials ask you to drive slowly, crack your windows to listen for logging trucks and allow them to pass safely.
People are asked not to park along the narrow road, which could further impede traffic.
Several other National Forest System roads in the Forest also have active log hauling occurring, so caution is advised across the area.
