VIRGINIA — A third person is in custody in connection with a November kidnapping and assault incident in Eveleth.
A 38-year-old Eveleth man turned himself in at the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia on Monday morning, Dec. 11. He has been booked on probable cause burglary, third-degree assault and kidnapping, according to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
Two other men are in the St. Louis County Jail in Duluth while they await formal charges.
Starting around Nov. 27, a woman reported she was sexually assaulted and beaten, and a man was kidnapped, beaten and held against his will for an extended time.
The victims eventually escaped and fled the city, according to authorities, and reported the incident on Dec. 1.
