The Great Northern Railway Historical Society is dedicated to the preservation, study and history of one of America's greatest railroads, the Great Northern Railway, including the Great Northern Depot, the history center’s home.

BEMIDJI — Learn about the Great Northern Railway Historical Society and its publication, The Goat, during a Brown Bag History presentation.

Chas Bettendorf will present noon Thursday, May 18, at the Beltrami County History Center.

The Great Northern Railway Historical Society is dedicated to the preservation, study and history of one of America's greatest railroads, the Great Northern Railway, including the Great Northern Depot, the history center’s home.

Bettendorf, the editor of the Great Northern Railway Historical Society quarterly magazine, The Goat, will share information about the society and the bond of Great Northern Railway fans across the world. Originally from Foley, Bettendorf has served as a history and economics instructor and is a lifelong rail fan.

Participants are invited to the Beltrami County History Center, 130 Minnesota Ave. SW, to attend this program free. Participants are welcome to bring lunch to enjoy during the program.
