GRAND RAPIDS — Tuesday, April 8, is special Election Day in Minnesota.
Northern Minnesotans cast ballots for Itasca County Board, Two Harbors City Council, Rock Ridge School Board and referendums in the Pequot Lakes, Pine River-Backus and Nevis school districts.
Local elections work a bit differently than the big ones in November. Elections are run by counties, cities or school districts, and results are not always immediately available on the Secretary of State's website.
Polls closed at 8 p.m. KAXE is compiling the election results from throughout our region.
Election results are unofficial until certified by local canvassing boards.
