Election 2025

These are the election results for special elections for school boards and school district referendums in Northern Minnesota, including Deer River, Win-E-Mac and Aitkin.

Aitkin, Badger, Clearbrook-Gonvick, Cook County, Crosby-Ironton, Deer River, Hibbing, Lake of the Woods, Roseau, Wadena-Deer Creek, Walker-Hackensack-Akeley, Warroad & Win-E-Mac are the districts with special elections.

Delane Klemetsen and Chelsey Melander are running for I.S.D. 362, Littlefork-Big Falls, School Board.

Sixteen school districts and one township in the Northland will have special elections on Nov. 4, 2025. Early voting begins Sept. 19.

Plus: The remains of two people were found inside in Outing; a handful of northern Minnesota cities and school districts held special elections on Aug. 12, 2025; and a Judiciary committee recommends three attorneys as candidates for a Roseau County judicial vacancy.

Two Harbors elected a new city councilor, voters approved ballot measures in the Fisher and Nett Lake school districts and International Falls residents shot down a bonding measure.

The Tuesday, Aug. 12, election is the citizens’ latest attempt to have more say in the city’s budget.

Nett Lake aims to reallocate funds to pay for building improvements, and Fisher is trying to pass an operating levy for the third year in a row.
