It covers the northeast part of Minnesota, anchored by Duluth, the state’s 4th largest city. It also covers the Mesabi and Vermillion Iron Ranges, Boundary Waters Canoe Area, the Superior National Forest, it goes as far as Bemidji, down to the norther suburbs. It’s a huge congressional district with a lot of different people. Stay tuned for that conversation next.

As of Tuesday, the newly drawn congressional districts keep the 7th in western Minnesota and extend the 8th west to take in all the state’s northern Native American reservations and south to the northeast metro area. Minnesota kept eight congressional districts, but the lines shifted because of population changes within them.
