It's another busy week in Northern Minnesota. Here are some events to check out:
Monday, March 9
- Weaving demonstration and artist talk with Kelly Marshall - 4-5:30 p.m. at Watermark Art Center in Bemidji.
Tuesday, March 10
- 2026 Trip Talk - 9:30 a.m. at the Bemidji Senior Center. Coffee and treats will be provided for those wanting to learn more about the planned Northern Minnesota overnight adventure and West Virginial rails and trails tour. These bus trips are open to all.
- Bemidji Adventures in Lifelong Learning - 10-11:30 a.m. at the Bemidji Eagles Club. Nicholle Bieberdorf, dean of academic affairs and programs at Northwest Technical College, will give a talk called "Health Center Paths, Tracks to Providing Health Care."
- Superior National Forest open house - 4-6 p.m. at the Laurentian District office in Aurora.
- The Grapes of Wrath auditions - 6 p.m. in the Chalberg Theater on the campus of Central Lakes College in Brainerd.
Wednesday, March 11
- Fireside Cinema - 6 p.m. at Fire in the Village (Room 203 of Old Central School) in Grand Rapids. Watch the movie Rez Ball.
Thursday, March 12
- Flock Foundations and Coop Conversations workshop - 5-7 p.m. at Northwoods Bank in Park Rapids. Review the essentials of raising a healthy, productive small poultry flock and debunk common care myths.
- Classic Movie Series - 6:30 p.m. at the Edge Center for the Arts in Bigfork. This month's film is Jesus Christ Superstar from 1973.
- Break the Stigma speaker series - 7 p.m. at the Reif Center in Grand Rapids with licensed drug and alcohol counselor Katy Larson presenting "The Long Way Home."
Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital is hosting a free speaker series to address the stigma of addiction.
Friday, March 13
- Peatland Forest in Minnesota: Past, Present, Future? - noon at Sax-Zim Bog near Meadowlands.
- People Powered Pilsner release party - 4-7 p.m. at Bemidji Brewing.
- St. Urho Days opening ceremonies - 6:30 p.m. in the Menahga High School gym.
- Grand Rapids Players present Fiddler on the Roof - 7 p.m. at the Reif Center in Grand Rapids. Tickets.
Saturday, March 14
- St. Urho's Day pancake breakfast - 7:30-11:30 a.m. at the Jacobson Community Center.
- 52nd annual Crosslake St. Patrick's Day Parade and Celebration - various times and locations in Crosslake. Parade is at 1:15 p.m.
- Winter Lecture Series - 1 p.m. at the Forest History Center in Grand Rapids. Teresa Peterson will give a talk called Makoce kin Mitakuye: The Land is My Relative.
- Skills for Disagreeing Better - 1:30-3 p.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Hosted by Brainerd Lakes Braver Angels.

Sunday, March 15
- Free Community Meal - Noon-3 p.m. at CHAIR in Virginia.
- Group hike with Arrowhead Chapter of North Country Trail Association - 1 p.m. Meet at East Elementary School in Grand Rapids. Come prepared for the conditions.
- Grand Rapids Players present Fiddler on the Roof - 2 p.m. at the Reif Center in Grand Rapids. Tickets.
Every year on March 16, Finns (and friends of Finns) gather in Menahga to celebrate the Patron Saint of the Finnish vineyard workers, St. Urho.
