Events Up North Feb. 10-15: Lots of local theater, curling watch parties

Events this week include a classic movie in Bigfork, an artist reception in Bemidji and a barn dance in Bovey.

It's another busy week in Northern Minnesota. Here are some events to check out:

Mid-winter Used Book Sale - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Clearwater County History Center in Shevlin.
Prisms, a chamber ensemble concert - 7 p.m. in the Dryden Theater on the campus of Central Lakes College in Brainerd

Mid-winter Used Book Sale - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Clearwater County History Center in Shevlin.
Break the Stigma speaker series - 7 p.m. at the Ives Theater at the Reif Center in Grand Rapids. The first in a three-part series on addiction hosted by Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital. This month's topic is "Beyond the Arrest" with a New Hampshire police chief, Dave Suckling.

Mid-winter Used Book Sale - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Clearwater County History Center in Shevlin.
Classic Movie Series - 6:30 p.m. at the Edge Center for the Arts in Bigfork. This month's film is Pride and Prejudice from 1940.
The Ice Fishing Play - 7 p.m. at Eveleth City Auditorium. Presented by Stages of the Range Players.
The Cottage - 7 p.m. at Chalberg Theater on the campus of Central Lakes College in Brainerd. Presented by Brainerd Community Theater.

The Ice Fishing Play - 7 p.m. at Eveleth City Auditorium. Presented by Stages of the Range Players.

Art reception - 3 to 5 p.m. at Watermark Art Center in Bemidji for "Minwaajimowinan - Good Stories."
Olympic Watch Party/Learn to Curl - 5 to 8 p.m. at Itasca Curling Club in Grand Rapids. Free pizza, chips and pop while supplies last.
Twilight Trails Candlelight ~~Ski~~ Hike - 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Lake Bemidji State Park.
Iron Range Barn Dance - 6:30 to 9:30 at Bovey City Hall. Dance to live music by Sugar on the Roof. No experience needed.

Group hike - 1 p.m. at Highway 6 North Country Trail trailhead (located on Forest Road 2101 north of Remer). The hike will be approximately 2 miles on the newest segment of the trail. Carpooling is recommended. Call Amanda for more information at 218-244-8066.
