- Minnesota Forestry Association/Department of Natural Resources webinar series on Bemidji blowdown - 4-5:30 p.m.
- Master class: Writing Comedy for the Stage with Sandy Rustin - 6-8 p.m. at the Reif Center in Grand Rapids. Register.
Tuesday, Dec. 9
- Family Nature Time - 3:30-5 p.m. at Hunt Utilities Resilient Living Campus in Pine River
Wednesday, Dec. 10
- Free car seat inspections - 4-6 p.m. at Virginia Public Safety building
- Book swap - 5:30-7:30 p.m. at KBXE in Bemidji. Bring a book, take a book and talk about your favorite books with fellow book lovers, including "What We're Reading" host Tammy Bobrowsky. Used books from the Red Door Bookstore will be available for purchase.
- Fireside Movie Night - 6 p.m. at Fire in the Village in Old Central School in Grand Rapids, showing How the Grinch Stole Christmas from 2000
- Holly Jolly Concert & Tuba Christmas - 7 p.m. at the Chalberg Theater at Central Lakes College in Brainerd
Thursday, Dec. 11
- Bringing Light to Chisholm - 5-7 p.m. on Lake Street in downtown Chisholm
Friday, Dec. 12
- Learn to Curl - 6 p.m. at Itasca Curling Club in Grand Rapids
- "The Spirit of Christmas" variety show - 7 p.m. at Bemidji Community Theater. Tickets $10 at the door.
Saturday, Dec. 13
- Electronics recycling drive - 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Deerwood Technologies. The drive will help fund scholarships for area youth.
- Apple Blossom Village Winter Faire Fundraiser - 10 a.m.-2 p.m. craft and bake sale, plus lunch for purchase at Rail River Folk School in Bemidji; 3-5 p.m. activities in the yurts outdoors at Rail River Folk School (this portion is $5 per child).
- Merry Tuba Christmas - 1 p.m. at Rock Ridge Performing Arts Center in Virginia
- Winter Wonderland Snowshoe - 2 p.m. at the Lost Forty Scientific and Natural Area near Alvwood. Register by email.
- Parade of Lights - 5 p.m. in Pine River

Sunday, Dec. 14
- Monthly breakfast buffet - 9 a.m.-noon at Buck Lake Community Center, located 12 miles north of Nashwauk
