It's late summer and thoughts are turning toward school. This week, we asked you about your favorite childhood books.
Here's what we heard
Kim texted, "I read straight through the Little House on the Prairie series. We also, as an entire family — from grandparents to the children — read the Junie B. Jones. While my dad was getting chemotherapy, these stories made us laugh."
Lily from rural Bovey said, "I read Calvin and Hobbes constantly. Other favorites included Because of Winn-Dixie and Where the Red Fern Grows."

Jeanine from Angora said, "My favorite books as a kid were by English author Arthur Ransome. He wrote of a group of children that had freedom to hike, sail and explore on their own every summer. Swallows and Amazons, We Didn't Mean to Go to Sea and Winter Holiday took me away!"
Lisa from Balsam Township wrote, "Dr. Seuss was and is still my favorite. Later I read and loved all the Little House books of course. It was probably fourth grade when I read Harriet The Spy. Definitely related to her ... love a mystery and a tomato sandwich! She used a 'bad' word somewhere in there, but I don't remember what it was. Regarding Nancy Drew, I now find it so amusing that they described her outfits in detail!"
As for me, I read Superfudge and Fudge-a-Mania so many times that I almost had them memorized. I shared them with my son when he was young, and he loved them as well. The Ramona series by Beverly Cleary was also something we both enjoyed.
