Events Up North Sept. 7-13: Walker Ethnic Fest, Harvest Moon Festival in Ely

Events this week include the return of the classic movie series in Bigfork, Pride in the Park in Brainerd and art receptions in Aitkin and Bemidji.

It's another busy week in Northern Minnesota. Here are some events to check out:

Monday, Sept. 7 (Labor Day)

Tuesday, Sept. 8

  • Talk on upcoming bus trips - 9:30 a.m. at Bemidji Senior Center. Learn about trips happening this fall and early 2027. You do not need to belong to the center in order to go on trips.

Thursday, Sept. 10

  • Walk for Life - 9 a.m. from Old Central School to Kieseler Wellness Center in Grand Rapids
  • Practical Water Wisdom webinar - noon, online. This month's topic is freshwater mussels. Hosted by Itasca Waters.
  • Classic movie series - 6:30 p.m. at Edge Center for the Arts in Bigfork. This month's film is The Great Dictator, starring Charlie Chaplin.

Friday, Sept. 11

  • Rummage sale - 8 a.m.-4 p.m at The Center in Brainerd
  • Harvest Moon Festival - 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Whiteside Park in Ely
  • Free hearing screenings - 10 a.m. at Bemidji Senior Center
