- Classic movie series - 6:30 p.m. at Paulucci Space Theater in Hibbing. This month's film is Barefoot in the Park from 1967.

- Northern Exposure to Lifelong Learning program on 1894 Hinckley Firestorm - 9:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook

Thursday, May 15

- Beltrami County Women of Law & Order - noon at Beltrami County History Center in Bemidji
- Itasca County Master Gardeners' plant sale - 5 to 6 p.m. at the North Central Research and Outreach Center in Grand Rapids
Friday, May 16
- Syttende Mai celebration - 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Bemidji Senior Center. Celebrate Norwegian independence with treats like krumkake, sanbakkels and lefse.
- Used book sale - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hibbing Public Library
- Vendor orientation for Pine River Market Square - 5 p.m. at the market site, located next to the Depot in Pine River. Meet other vendors, complete paperwork and ask questions.
Saturday, May 17
- Hope for Recovery Workshop - 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Woodland Bank Community Room in Grand Rapids. This workshop is for family and friends of those living with mental illness. Sponsored by NAMI Grand Rapids.
- Burger Bundle fundraiser - 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Anderson's Pine Point Resort in Walker. Hosted by the Sons of the American Legion, proceeds benefit the trapshooting team at Walker-Hackensack-Akeley High School.
- Bald Eagles: Guardians of the Sky - 2 p.m. at Lake Bemidji State Park
- Itasca Orchestra Strings Program presents "Sunshine" - 7 p.m. at the Reif Center in Grand Rapids
Sunday, May 18
- Informal MS walk - 11 a.m. at Yanmar Arena in Grand Rapids. Walk around Crystal Lake. Donations benefit multiple sclerosis research.
- Into the Forest, guided eco-therapy walk- 2 to 5 p.m. Meet at the trailhead on 14th Avenue SW in Grand Rapids. Sponsored by NAMI Grand Rapids.
