Events this week include a puzzle swap, a concert for veterans, a comedian/hypnotist and more.

It's another busy week in Northern Minnesota. Here are some events to check out:

Monday, Nov. 4 through Saturday, Nov. 9

  • Community Puzzle Swap - 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Historic Carnegie Library in Bemidji

Tuesday, Nov. 5

  • Election Day - Polls are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Find more information about voting in Minnesota at mnvotes.gov. For information about contested races in northern Minnesota, visit KAXE's Election Guide.

Wednesday, Nov. 6

  • Two programs with historian Doug Ohman hosted by Northern Exposure to Lifelong Learning - "Name that Minnesota Town" at 9:30 a.m. and "The New Deal in Minnesota" at 11:15 a.m. at Bagley American Legion
  • "Feed Your Mind" learning series - noon at Northland Arboretum in Brainerd. Learn about landscaping with birds in mind.
  • Hope House 44-hour fundraiser - begins at 3 p.m. Proceeds support mental health recovery in the Bemidji area.

Thursday, Nov. 7

  • Itasca Waters' Practical Water Wisdom webinar - noon. This month's topic is low and no-salt water conditioning.
  • Cultural Thursday - noon at Central Lakes College's Chalberg Theater in Brainerd. Kuniko Yamamoto will lead the audience through a Japanese tea ceremony.
  • "Magical Mask, Music, and Mime of Japan" - 6 p.m. at Central Lakes College's Chalberg Theater in Brainerd. Kuniko Yamamoto uses traditional Japanese music, handcrafted masks, stylized movement and a touch of magic to create an artistic balance of illusion and reality.
  • Mesabi Community Band's "Salute to Veterans" - 7 p.m. at Eveleth Auditorium
  • Mean Girls (high school version) - 7 p.m. at Bemidji High School. Recommended for ages 13 and up.
  • Dinner and comedy hypnotist Randy Andrews - 6 p.m. at Kiesler Wellness Center. Proceeds go towards mental health crisis services.

Friday, Nov. 8

  • Opening reception for "Native American Art - Past and Present" - 5 to 7 p.m. at Northwoods Friends of the Arts in Cook.
  • Mean Girls (high school version) - 7 p.m. at Bemidji High School. Recommended for ages 13 and up.

Saturday, Nov. 9

  • Mean Girls (high school version) - 7 p.m. at Bemidji High School. Recommended for ages 13 and up.
  • Pine River Market Square indoor market - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Warehouse in Pine River
  • Bemidji Contra Dance - 6:30 p.m. at Rail River Folk School. All dances will be taught by the caller with live music from Four Mile Portage.

Sunday, Nov. 10

  • Buck Lake Improvement Club's monthly breakfast buffet - 9 a.m. to noon at Buck Lake Community Center
  • Bemidji Chorale & Festival Orchestra's fall concert - 3 p.m at Thompson Recital Hall in Bangsberg Hall at Bemidji State University. A pie auction and reception follow.
